Mid-Winter Ball 3 July 2025 – in North Sydney

A late invitation to students, families & friends
to our end-of-term Winter Ball
When: Thursday 3 July, 6.15pm for 6.30-9.30pm

Attire: Warm, festive, period costume optional, but dance shoes essential
Bring: Easy finger food to share, or something to drink (no alcohol)

Entry: Enrolled students no charge, Guest $10 entry (Cash/OSKO)

Evening Classes Term 4

Our Evening Classes in Court Dance resume for Term 4 at 6.15pm on October 12, at 181 Blues Point Road, North Sydney. The term will run for 10 weeks until 14 December, when we will have a little Christmas-End-of-Year gathering. Week 6 of the term, November 16, will be our Spring Ball – the first such event for 4 years since COVID. We have missed seeing so many EDC friends in that time, so we hope that you’ll be able to make it.

Christmas Party December 20 brings Term 4 to a close

An invitation to current, past and prospective students and friends of the Early Dance Consort – our Christmas Party will be held on Thursday 20th December, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, at the usual class venue, 181 Blues Point Road, North Sydney.  Please come and join us to celebrate with  a little festive dancing, a look at the dances we’ve been learning this year, and to catch up with old friends.

As is the custom, we welcome contributions for the table (simple finger food, non-alcoholic drinks – we’ll provide cups, plates &c). Hope to see you there.

Dear EDC Students & Friends,
Our Mid-Winter Ball falls on Bastille Day this year, so what better opportunity to celebrate with French dances of the Ancien Régime plus one or two from La Révolution?
It will be on Friday 14 July, 2017 from 7-10pm (later than usual), at the usual venue, 181 Blues Point Road, North Sydney.
Dress for dancing (and warmth) to match the Tricolore or French-inspired costume if you can.
Confrères welcome, and please bring some simple finger food &/or drink (non-alcoholic) to share (we’ll provide cups, plates &c), in the spirit of égalité.

Our 7th Summer Course in Renaissance & Baroque Dance is just one month away, 6-8 January, 2016. It’s a great introduction to early dance for musicians, dancers, actors and anyone passionate about social history or period drama. No previous experience or partner required. The course will be held during the daytime in North Sydney, Wednesday to Friday, with a Summer Ball on the evening of Friday 8 January (all welcome). We’re having a little Christmas/End-of-Year Party on Thursday 17 December, 6.30pm in North Sydney. A relaxed get-together for students past & present, friends & family, and anyone curious about early dance.
